Join us for a beginner Ceramic Femme Mug Workshop at The Bunker in San Luis Obispo! Adriana Lemus will teach you how to make your own Travel Mug and The Bunker will provide you with delicious snacks to fuel the creativity! You will learn the basics of working with clay using the slab construction method and decorating by sculpting and texturing clay.
The $75 ticket fee includes white stoneware clay, all materials and tools to use during the workshop, glaze and firing, instruction by an experienced ceramic artist, and small bites! Once your mug is created, you will leave it with the Adriana, where she will take it back to her studio in San Luis Obispo to be fired, glazed (painted), and fired a second time. This process takes about 4-6 weeks. When complete, your pottery will be brought back to the The Bunker to be picked up.
Adriana Lemus was born and raised on the Central Coast and has been working with ceramics for 20 years. She studied art at UC Berkeley and has been running her own business for the past 7 years. Adriana creates functional and non-functional ceramic vessels that are made to connect with the soul. Adriana teaches private throwing lessons in her backyard studio, sells her work at local Makers Markets, online, and is currently working on commission work for restaurants, hotels, spas, and homes.
Now it is time for V2. The Bunker is now cleaned up, has coffee service, shows and events. As we expand we plan to hold more events (for grown ups and kiddos), show more art (from locals and out of the area artists) and provide a space for non-profits and individuals to hold events.
